Christine Hernandez, LCPC
Therapist
“Starting therapy can be a difficult decision, but hopefully it will be a choice that will hopefully foster positive change and feelings in your life. It is my goal to make my clients feel welcome and at ease while challenging them throughout the process, as needed, to reach their goals and acquire stability in their lives.” – Christine Hernandez
Originally from the area, Christine received her Master’s from The George Washington University in Washington D.C.. She has been counseling since 2008 starting her career working with trauma survivors. She still continues to enjoy this work along with working with individuals suffering from generalized anxiety/depression and various other mental health issues. Christine tailors her approaches to meet each client’s individual needs integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) with positive supportive psychotherapy.
As part of her graduate program she served as a counseling intern at a local elementary school and high school, and also provided ongoing clinical counseling to members of the D.C. community through the CCSC at GWU.
