Paul DelGrosso, LCSW-C
Psychotherapist
Paul received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Catholic University in 2006. He completed four years of post-graduate advanced clinical training in Bowen Family Systems Theory and Psychotherapy at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Georgetown. Paul is also advanced certified in Schema Therapy and a skilled provider of EMDR, CBT, ERP, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
Paul’s clinical practice focuses primarily on working with adults who find themselves stuck in unfulfilling life patterns that are often a result of unmet childhood needs, traumatic experiences, or problematic personality traits. These patterns frequently lead to significant distress, anxiety, depression, and difficulty with interpersonal relationships.
Paul uses an integrative approach drawn from evidence-based, family systems, object relations, and experiential therapies. This approach emphasizes working collaboratively to develop a shared understanding of life aspects influencing the presenting problem. The result is a personalized treatment plan that draws from best practices and reflects your specific needs and concerns.
In addition to his practice with adults, Paul also works with adolescents and families, and provides group therapy. He is an active member of the International Society of Schema Therapy and co-leads a Schema Therapy training and supervision program in Washington, DC.
When not being a “therapy nerd,” Paul enjoys exploring DC, adventurous traveling, fumbling at HIIT, and occasionally trying his hand at writing fiction.
